Read about the embed.ly block on Mahara but could not get it to work for Mahara 1.35. I thought I would try it out on a wordpress install before adding it to our WordPress Network installation. The plugin gives you the ability to embed a number of different sites, currently 221, using just the url to to the content. I have embedded a few of the sites below. All you need to do is find out what sites are supported from here then put the url to the media on its own line, as shown below. The media then just shows up for you.
