As I listened about the impact that tools like GApps, Diigo and Scratch had for the different presenters on our PD afternoon this week I thought back and became a bit reflective as I considered where I have been and the impact of sharing.
2007 was an interesting year for me
- I moved from Writely to Google Docs.
- I started using Jotspot.
- I moved my Furl bookmarks to Diigo and started having my students use Diigo.
- I had my students blog using WordPress on a internal server I set up.
- I moved parts of my personal WordPress install into an external space (I really wish I had all posts prior to 2007 although I find it very ironic that after our first time using Blogs for student lead conferences this year that the first post I managed to transfer correctly from previous years of blogging were notes from a course).
- I started using Scratch in my technology class electives.
- I sent my first tweet as @gbertoia (not my first tweet and not very memorable)
As always, each presenter gave me something I hadn't thought about.
They shared. Although I am, more than a bit, jaded and disillusioned I still try to share.
I wonder about sharing. I appreciate those that still share and I still am confused by those that don't.
Over the years I have shared a lot from 2007. I wish I could remember who shared these things with me so I could give them credit.
