Thinking about creating a template blog that could be used to help create blog based portfolios at SSIS. Been waiting for a few things to work themselves out before starting on this again. I am thinking about a standard approach in creating the portfolio where artifacts, reflections etc. are created in posts. Pages used to link to selected posts and offer a space for final reflection.
Yesterday I started looking at how the menu system could be created.
So far I have tried this only with a template blog and a single trial blog created using a student blog. I created a few trial menus as I wanted one menu that looked at it from a grade 4-12 perspective so teachers would look at this from a more global perspective and not just a single grade level. Other menus are based on school divisions so if the portfolio was used in Middle School a student could pick a menu with only middle school content available as I have shown the Slide Deck below.
Although everything worked well still have some questions:
- how will this work on a larger scale
- what actually should be on the menus
- do I include information on each page
- prompts?
- brief description of what the page is for?
- something else
