Last year we explored if statements and if statements with the five Hummingbird sensors. Students created code that cause a servo or motor or LED to react based on sensor readings. They used all 5 sensors, temperature, sound, potentiometer, light and distance.
In the class this year the first year students will continue with this exploration. I needed to find other sensors for the students to use. So far I have added a simple pushbutton switch (from my Arduino exploration), a Sainsmart water sensor, a joystick (great tutorial here on how to set that up) and a Smartfun analog line sensor. It will be interesting to see what the kids will do with these!
