Bookery Note Widget

I added the Bookery Notes widget to my grade 6 iBook. This widget allows students to create notes that are then submitted to me via an email attachment. I tried this out with students creating notes on a Google presentation.  As I am  not crazy about having to open 25  different text attachments to look at what was written I started looking for some solution that would automatically combine all the text attachments and add them to one document.

Trying out Zapier.com has been on my todo list for a while and I found the service lets me do what I want.

I created a zap that took any email I wanted (a label filters the email from the Bookery Widget) and added the email attachment to a folder in my Dropbox account. When the attachments got to the destination Dropbox folder I created another Zap that took any newly added file and added it to a file I specify. The result is from the 25 attachments I get one text file with everyone’s work in it.

The slideshow below shows the workflow in action.
