Eight years ago the school I worked at began using the work of Charlotte Danielson to guide our conversations about teaching and the creation of a professional growth plan. As I was interested in using an electronic portfolio I began using Mahara to create, collect and display what I learned. Fast forward to today and we have started using The Framework For Teaching as a tool to do much the same thing.
I continued doing this over the years, so it has not been difficult meeting my first goal. Mahara allows you to create plans that contain the goals that I meet. I can collect artifacts to document what I learn and accomplished as I move through my plan and add them to pages. These pages will be used to collect the items we need to include in our Learning Plan (I prefer Growth Plan).
The Learning Plan Includes:
anticipated outcomes
components from evaluation document that match the focus of your plan (maximum of 3)
actions you will take to facilitate your anticipated outcomes
identification of who the plan and outcomes will be shared with as well as how (on-going, culminating, etc.)
how documentation will be collected/recorded
meeting and/or work plan (if group, number of times and when group will meet)
administrative support needed, if any (ex. assistance with class coverage
As before, I plan on writing about what I learn and to then use a tag based RSS feed to add this to the portfolio page.
