The noise in my grade six class has been intense, loud, excited for the past few periods. The kind of noise that makes you just stop and close your eyes to listen to make sure. But what you hear is very directed. A mixture of “how do we…”, “I can’t”… and today a giant screech/squeal “we killed it“. In short great noise.
Lately they have played Interactive Fiction games. This is the first part of the creation of their own game using Quest. We’ve been playing Escape From Byron Bay and Things That Go Bump in the Night. The next step? I did some searching to find ideas. Fortunately while doing this I found the Perin School. A little more reading and I came across the name of the teacher involved with the project then sent a tweet to @gideonwilliams. A few DM’s, an email or two and a shared dropbox folder later I now have all sorts of resources and ideas. Just need to put it all together and next week we begin!
I hate the letter PLN (seems like another trite acronym to me) but the connections and you can make and the sharing that happens with a search and a tweet is just amazing.
@gideonwilliams trying out Quest with my gr 6’s was reading about resources you made for Quest Day @ Perins School are they still available?
