The several classes I have to teach has increased. One of them, Math 8, is something I have not done in a number of years and I am still wrestling with the delivery of the course: I am creating videos and flipping instruction. In addition I have a 40% allocation as a technology facilitator along with Robert. All of this is making life more than a bit crazy.
On the tech facilitator end two apps have made it a lot easier to record and to have the data to better understand what staff needs are and future directions we need to look at. We use two shared reminders categories TRF To Do, where we add anything we plan on doing and TRF weekly where we try to find the more important items we are looking at for the week. We try to begin our week with a meeting to decide our weekly direction. Also, the completed side of reminders lets us easily see what we have done.
In addition to reminders, we are using a Bento database to record how we use our allocated Tech Facilitator time. Bento allows you to easily create a data bases on iPads and Macs. This database can be shared with multiple users and the users can synch anything they add to one central Mac. It gives us insight on issues we are having, this week printing with the netbooks and insight on how teachers are using technology in the classroom. In addition, as I also help manage the school blogging system it helps me track how much time I spend on the blogging system something some people have difficulty understanding.
I am not totally sure where this will end up but for now it is working well.
